About
CHEMSTEM was founded by and is chiefly operated by Ethan Lee. He is an expert in science education, instructional design, and data analytics.
Ethan has worked professionally at well-known educational powerhouses like Khan Academy, Chegg, PBS, and Edpuzzle. In undergrad, he studied ocean, earth, & atmospheric sciences along with chemistry. He also holds two graduate degrees: one in education, and another in statistics.
The goal of CHEMSTEM is to provide alternate and engaging ways to efficiently learn chemistry and STEM content in a direct way, driven by notes, animation, and clear explanation. Many tried and true resources are great, but they're also a decade old, so we strive to create more recent content with a different visual spin.
And, of course, it should be pretty: most CHEMSTEM content is handwritten and drawn by hand. Science is hard, but it's better when it looks nice.
At CHEMSTEM, we embrace imperfection and continuous improvement, so videos over time in terms of clarity, concision, and appearance.
CHEMSTEM was recently reborn and has hit a new stride in 2025 and beyond. But, it's not easy work, so we appreciate your patience as we will in gaps in content and bring the newest science notes to life.
