Study Tips and Outlining
You must learn how to study (and actually study) in order to pass this class. Trust me!
Learning how to study and take notes from textbooks and lecture is one of the most important skills to learn.
Outlining text from your resources is not "rewriting the book" but rather a method of organizing key information for retention and application.
Whether you want to use many colors or not many colors, or reword everything versus use verbatim definitions... it's up to you. Find a system that works, and stick with it. Be sure you are actively reading and attempting to understand the information.
Always include chapter titles, section titles, headings, subheadings, vocab words, images (graphs, charts, or drawings), and important or interesting connecting ideas. Additional tips:

- Do not rush. Actually read the information actively, for understanding.
- Do not take forever, either.
- Keep all notes in one location (a 5-subject notebook, for example).
- Take breaks if you need to, rather than trying to do it all during one massive session.
